WhatsApp – which is owned by Facebook – just announced a new policy that mandates WhatsApp’s 2 billion users share their data with Facebook. If WhatsApp users refuse to agree to this then they can no longer use WhatsApp. 👎
This new policy is a complete reversal from Facebook’s promise that WhatsApp data would remain “private and separate”. Mark Zuckerberg breaks yet another privacy promise – and we’ve all had enough of these betrayals. 😠
Remarkably, this isn’t the first time that WhatsApp has violated its users’ privacy. In 2017, WhatsApp was fined $122 million by the European Union for sharing member data with Facebook. 👊🏽
WhatsApp co-founder Brian Acton has repeatedly encouraged everyone to #DeleteFacebook . It’s also time to #DeleteWhatsApp . 🙀 🔏
With so much happening everywhere – let’s stay connected with Trust, Safety, and Love. MeWe has a user Privacy Bill of Rights and a “poison pill” in our privacy policy to ensure your data and privacy are your absolute rights!
